Checking Into The Festival: Wristbands

We’re well into festival season and happy to have our new Zebra wristband printers up and running at the latest events. You might have seen this snapshot on our Facebook page:

So, why use ‘em?

Besides adding more organization to an event, wristbands are ideal for events that have a large number of attendees, especially when differentiating access levels, like film festivals and concerts. General admission, VIP and All-Access passes are useful, but printing out a guest’s wristband at registration that assigns a guest’s access permissions can definitely be a more efficient time-saver at the event.

One of the major pluses of on-site printed wristbands is customization. Although there’s an array of colors to choose from, designing your wristbands with a barcode or QR code can not only simplify the registration process, but can later be utilized to track attendees or set access levels, especially if the event is spread across different locations.

Including an RFID tag on the band–which works across NFC capacities–will do away with scanning altogether; guests are in at the beep of the wrist. This type of technology encourages engagement among attendees at events, as well, allowing them to connect their social media accounts at check-in to promote the event across their networks based on where the NFC scanners are placed.

What’s most appealing to our #eventprofs clients? Customizing the wristbands to include logos of sponsors of the event. They can create an extra budget just from the logo itself, creating cross-branding and saving a couple extra bucks to use in other aspects of the event.
