Feature Friday: Be Ohsome + #Eventprofs Picnic
Notice anything new around here?
It’s go big or go home at the HQ, and we couldn’t simply stop at relocating the office—oh, no. We’re bringing you a cleaner, more informative website and a new layout for Blog.Boomset.Com.
Another week and some more great events added to the roster. Yesterday we were with Market NY Expo at the Metropolitan Pavilion, a business-to-business trade show, conference and networking event that brought small business owners and professionals together to focus on going forward. Solutions like better content, greater social engagement, and quantifiable CRM were some of the experiences awaiting guests beyond the registration table.
A great success, and we can’t wait to return next year!
Let’s end the month with some of these great finds…
Featured Venue: Gustavino’s
Some more high-vaulted ceilings with history, you’ll find this visual masterpiece right under the 59th Street Bridge in Midtown, NYC. Part of the D&D London family—which includes restaurants and event venues in London, Paris, Copenhagen and Tokyo—this particular venue features granite arches in its spacious 15,000 square-foot interior, complete with tile vaults designed by Rafael Guastavino, an architect from Barcelona.
The space originally served as a marketplace, which was shut down in the ’30s due to the Great Depression, and is now considered a registered landmark in NYC. It now hosts some of the most fabulous events in NYC: casino nights, fashion shows, gala dinners and more. Its private garden is a special extra, giving a homey, more romantic feel to the venue, while the built-in caves add an aesthetically-pleasing vibe to the now modernized site.
As of 2005, Gustavino’s is exclusively reserved for private functions and large-scaled events. Their team has over 40 years of combined event management experience, so think about requesting a proposal after checking out the floor plans.
Featured #Eventprofs: Ohsome Interactive
Oh & Awesome = this team right here. Researching new technology to provide epic experiences, the event pros at Ohsome Interactive are integrating tech and digital experiences to up-the-anty on your marketing.
They wholeheartedly agree that the physical—interactive experience at an event—is what is fun and appealing to the crowds. They then take the measurable—the digital aspect—to understand what goes viral and why, thus measuring the impact on your goals, which is particularly efficient for conferences and expos, amongst other events.
The team is about building a strong relationship between a brand and its consumers by utilizing new tech to change the way they interact with one another. Their blog is worth reading, as it documents their experimental experiences and latest advances in branding and building. Connect with them @OhsomeInc, and get on the inspiration train here.
Featured #EventDesign: Picnic Fun
The warm weather has undoubtedly inspired us to get out of the office to perfect our picnic planning, so much so that we’ve even started a new board to celebrate our new-found love with the outdoors.
There’s an endless amount of pretty-as-a-picture picnic ideas: using mason jars for foods and bevs, easy recipes meant to take along with you, and even edible utensils. Check out the Foodie Spoon once more, and be marveled by it’s greatness:
Plus, this different version for a “basket”…
One less thing to wash…we like it!
These are perfect for one-person to large events, all depending on your creativity. Feel free to pin along with us, and if you’re in the NY area—or if you plan on visiting any of the amazing cities for our upcoming events in the month of June—let’s PICNIC!
Hey, Boo-Boo, where’s my pic-a-nic basket?
