FEATURE FRIDAY: 2 STRANGE FACTS ABOUT THE GOP DEBATE + AN ISLAND VENUE
Let’s get right to it.
Two things we found interesting about this year’s GOP debates:
1. Reaching out to the different generations as a tactic to woo the crowds. (Knowing generational attributes of attendees is something interesting and informative eventprofs should keep in mind, too.)
2. How such an important event in American history can inspire an interesting (and hysterical) game from Rolling Stone. (You can – and should – see the rules here.)
We don’t want to get into politics, but Boomset wants to be at the campaign after-parties…they don’t call it a Republican/Democratic Party for nothing! Especially when the university tour comes to town, on-site printed name badges or wristbands would be ideal to get everyone into the event fast and ready for the discussions.

After another inspiring week with our eventtech team on-site in NY and at BIzBash’s #ElevateDC, here are a couple of creative extras to optimize your event planning and production.
FEATURED VENUE: GOVERNOR’S ISLAND

What if we told you that you could get not just a space, but an entire ISLAND as a venue? Well, if you’re looking to organize any kind of event, Governor’s Island is the place to be. A water taxi away from the island of Manhattan, private events can be held from May 23rd to September 27th, (weekdays only) from 10:00am-6:00pm.

There are tons of other restrictions you ought to read over, but the island serves as an ideal summer space for large events. The #212NYCBeach party brought crowds from all over, and not just for the entertainment. Check out these views:

Note that anything bigger small, informal gatherings (think: family reunions, team building picnics, corporate outings, etc.), needs a special permit. Also, the event’s size, location duration and type are subject to extra fees and surcharges. Inquiry about the indoor spaces available, too. Contact their event management and venue rental department here.
FEATURED EVENT DETAIL: BANDALOOP

If you’re going big with an event venue, take the entertainment factor to another level with ‘Bandalooping.’ Simply put, it’s a vertical dance performace. (It’s so much more than a dancefloor turned on its side!)

With physical endurance, strategic choreography, and the addition of special climbing technology, the artistic group does what founder Amelia Rudolph says is “life-affirming” (in place of death-defying, which is the perspective they give us from the ground).
The team partners with corporations, government agencies, and organizations around the world to create beautiful mind-blowing entertainment. Contact them for your upcoming events here.
