FEATURED #EVENTTECH DETAIL: 3D FOOD PRINTING
No, it’s not an app, but it is considered event technology with a catering twist. We know that on-demand badge printing is a more sustainable option when it comes to paper material, but how about when it comes to food?

Image via AtelierEvents
It is estimated that 40% of all food produced is wasted in the U.S. alone (and that’s not even counting floral decor at events). If on-demand badge printing saves time, budget, and reduces waste, imagine what on-demand culinary printing can do!

Digital food creation is what 3D Systems intends to achieve. Using 3D printing technology and the knowledge and technique of culinary experts, the company looks to create a “culinary ecosystem” movement.
According to the 3D Printing Industry, it’s possible that 3D food printing machines will increase in demand (much like the microwave did during its debut). Though manufacturing costs are somewhat higher (as are the temperatures of food that’s printed), it offers a healthier alternative to the global environment and a creative detail for event caterers.
