Preparedness is part of who we are as #eventprofs, no? We like to dot every “i” and cross each “t,” sometimes really over-preparing so as to keep in mind & be ready for the unexpected.
As we read up on @eventbrite’s coverage of #ElevateDC, we decided to prepare some extra tidbits for all of you event professionals heading to #ElevateNYC: we want you to take full advantage of the networking opportunities that are about to ensue. With that, here are a couple of reminders to read over before you check-in at The Conrad:
CHARGE!

Be sure to not only have your devices charged, but even something to provide an extra boost of power via a compact portable charger. There’s nothing like swiping open your tablet to jot something down only to be greeted with a little empty battery signal. It’s also a good idea to carry along extra business cards and a trusty ol’ pen, as well.
WHO’S WHO?
Read up about presenters and even other attendees to have your questions/doubts/concerns–maybe even compliments!–ready to go to engage in conversation at the event. There are bound to be people that strike your curiosity–find a way to express your interest so you can share stories and experiences together.
You’ll also want to be able to describe yourself as best as possible, mentioning your brand or person’s key qualities, perhaps even who or what you’re looking to work with in the future. Keep it short and sweet to facilitate easy conversation flow, working around the room and utilizing your time efficiently.
WANDERLUST

You’ll be in the city that never sleeps and there will be time for mingling after the event. Definitely squeeze in some extras in NYC, having some ideas, places and spaces in mind to invite your new acquaintances to tag along!
#IfYoureSocialSayWhat?!

Any #hashtag associated with the event is a good Know-Before-You-Go: you can review information that other attendees and guests have shared, using this information to participate in real-time AND follow-up post event.
It’ll be even easier to see all the participants, photos, quotes and other goodies if you take a peek at any social screens used at the event, or consult a platform like the handy-dandy Tagboard pre/post-event.
